Give VS Code and Copilot Google search and live data

To give Copilot in VS Code Google search, open the 1ToolRing install link below and confirm in VS Code, or run MCP: Add Server, choose HTTP and enter https://mcp.1toolring.com/mcp. On first use VS Code opens a browser window to sign in; approve access on the 1ToolRing page. The agent can then fetch live Google results as JSON, keyword volume, Google Maps places, Amazon products and exchange rates, with each tool's price shown before it runs. Top up from $1 by card or Rp10.000 by bank transfer; failed calls are free.

Set it up

Install in VS Code

  1. Open the install link and confirm in VS Code.
  2. Or run MCP: Add Server, choose HTTP, and enter the server URL:
    https://mcp.1toolring.com/mcp
  3. VS Code opens a browser window to sign in on first use; approve access on the 1ToolRing page.

Add it from a terminal

This writes 1toolring into VS Code's MCP config:

npx add-mcp https://mcp.1toolring.com/mcp -g -a vscode

Other ways to set it up

Paste this line into the agent's chat and it reads the setup guide, installs 1ToolRing and asks you to sign in:

set up 1ToolRing - https://1toolring.com/llms.txt

Or add 1toolring to every agent on this machine from a terminal (needs Node.js):

npx add-mcp https://mcp.1toolring.com/mcp -g

First prompt to try

Switch Copilot Chat to agent mode and paste this. It should find a Google search tool with discover_tools, check the price with inspect_tool, then call run_tool.

Use 1toolring to get the top Google results for "standing desk" in the United States. Tell me which tool you will use and its price before you run it, then list the top 10 URLs with their rank.

What the calls cost

A few tools your agent is likely to pick. Discovering and inspecting tools is free; only a successful run is charged. How pricing works.

Prices as of 5 Nov 2026; the live price is always shown before a run.

Troubleshooting

"Authentication required" from 1toolring
The 1ToolRing server needs a sign-in or an API key. Start the server again from VS Code and approve access in the browser window it opens.
The server is added but the agent does not see the tools
Most agents load a new MCP server only after a restart or in a new session. Start a new session and check again.
Tools answer 403 EARLY_ACCESS_PENDING
1ToolRing is in early access and new accounts are approved in batches. Sign-in works before approval, but tools, keys and top-ups stay locked until the approval email arrives. Nothing is charged for these calls.
A run fails with 402 INSUFFICIENT_BALANCE
The balance can't cover the price of that call. The error carries your balance, the amount needed and a top-up link. Top up any amount on the Billing page: from Rp10.000 by bank virtual account or Alfamart/Indomaret, or from $1 by card. The refused call costs nothing.
A tool answers 403 TOOL_BLOCKED
That tool is not offered on 1ToolRing, and nothing was charged. People or contact data, email finding, social media data and web scraping are not in the catalog. Ask your agent to pick another tool with discover_tools.
