Integration guide
Give Codex Google search and live data
To give Codex Google search, run codex mcp add 1toolring --url https://mcp.1toolring.com/mcp, then codex mcp login 1toolring and select Allow in the browser. Codex then has 1ToolRing's four tools and can fetch live Google results as JSON, keyword search volume, Google Maps places, Amazon products and exchange rates. Every tool carries its price, shown before the run, and runs are paid from a prepaid balance you top up from $1 by card or Rp10.000 by bank transfer. Failed calls are not charged.
Set it up
- Add the server from your terminal:
codex mcp add 1toolring --url https://mcp.1toolring.com/mcp - Sign in. Your browser opens the 1ToolRing approval page; select Allow.
codex mcp login 1toolring - Check that it is configured:
codex mcp list
Where Codex keeps the config
Codex stores MCP servers in config.toml, by default ~/.codex/config.toml, so the server is there for every session. Run codex mcp --help to see the other MCP commands.
Other ways to set it up
Paste this line into the agent's chat and it reads the setup guide, installs 1ToolRing and asks you to sign in:
set up 1ToolRing - https://1toolring.com/llms.txtOr add 1toolring to every agent on this machine from a terminal (needs Node.js):
npx add-mcp https://mcp.1toolring.com/mcp -gFirst prompt to try
Paste this into a new session. The agent should call discover_tools to find a Google search tool, inspect_tool to read its input and price, and then run_tool. You see the price before anything is spent.
Use 1toolring to get the top Google results for "standing desk" in the United States. Tell me which tool you will use and its price before you run it, then list the top 10 URLs with their rank. What the calls cost
A few tools your agent is likely to pick. Discovering and inspecting tools is free; only a successful run is charged. How pricing works.
